IDOL interviews artist NUNZIO

Nunzio is the type of person that the further you get away from them, the more you wonder if they’re real. As you become consumed in the reality of the human race, you struggle to believe someone with so much clarity can exist amongst a world obsessed with brands, money and status. We are spoon fed to believe that success and worth is measured by bank accounts, IQ and the length of your CV. It’s hard to see outside of that when the majority of citizens are confirming what we are taught. Nunzio doesn’t exactly blow these beliefs out of the water, rather he laughs at them lightly, turns away and if asked, explains why. Suddenly you are left with a challenging and refreshing perspective from the one you arrived with. Yes, Nunzio Citro , Jamie Oliver chef turned truth talking artist really is that deep. So much so that what was to be a straight forward interview, resulted in a two and a half hour conversation on life.

IDOL met up with Nunzio on a roof top in Islingtion and discussed conspiracy theories, happiness and education over a bag of popcorn and philosophy.

How did you become an artist?
Well, I believe everyone is an artist from the day they are born because everyone expresses themselves and communicates. But I guess it really kicked off when I was working in Cecconi’s, just off Bond Street. That area has very good and expensive art galleries and I used to walk there during my lunch breaks. One day, I stopped in front of the painting of a young Dutch woman who died quite young and when I saw her art I thought “F**k, what am I doing in the kitchen?” I realised then I wanted to become an artist because art is a language that I could easily communicate with others, my language since I have never been really academic.

How old were you when you became a chef?

I was only 21 years old. I was working very hard, around 70 hours per week. I used to overlook London and think about if I was doing the right thing. My parents are in catering so they were very happy I was working for Jamie Oliver, I was on a good path.

Did you ever think you had made a mistake taking that path? Have you ever lost your faith?

No, never. There are no mistakes everything is just changing. “Mistakes” is just your perception of it. Anyway, I was not afraid of making mistakes. Some people asked me “You have wasted your time being a chef?” but you can’t waste time because everything contributes in one way or another to who you are.

Don’t you look back and think that you took the hard path and your life would have been easier working with Jamie Oliver?
Easier, maybe, but I was miserable. You know your life is your stage, you write your own story. I am not going to lie, sometimes it gets hard and I struggle with my work , but I am very confident of what I do and I know this is what I want.

Is not cooking another way of art?
That’s a tricky question! People tend to think, “oh, cooking is so creative!” but no f**cking way! You are following guidelines all the time! Even the head chef has to think about what to put it in the menu because it needs to sell – if not you are out. But still for some people, it is a form of art – as long as you don’t do it for living. You cook what you feel like cooking and how you feel like cooking it, in that sense – yes there’s a sort of creativity in cooking.

What about your photography work, often you incorporate it into your work. Did you study photography when you were younger?

When I went travelling out of the UK. The first place that I picked was Los Angeles (LA), bought a camera, called myself a photographer, made business cards and I became a photographer. I learned with practice. With time I also learned to incorporate different techniques to my work, I always used to write a lot and keep my own journal, dance is quite important as well; I am planning on incorporating ballet into my work.

A lot of artists struggle – particularly in the beginning, how do you cope with that?
You mean how do I put food on the table? Right, I take photos of women who have had plastic surgery for certain companies. Also, I had an exhibition 3 years ago, I sold a lot of paintings and I still have money left over from it. My family own the building where I have my studio, when Iwent away I remembered this place and I thought I want to come back and set up my studio here. That’s about it.

Do you have a measure of success?
I think success is relative. I can tell you what success is for me – for an average person. Success is when you don’t need anything and you don’t want anything, if you can appreciate yourself your surroundings and inspire others to do so. That’s a pretty good thing; that’s being successful.

Final question, do you have any IDOL?

[Laugh] I knew you were going to ask me this question and I thought about and every time I came up with different answers. Not really, I believe life is my IDOL because it is everything. Life is like a blank canvas everyday where you can find your way and yourself.

As every year, Central Saint Martins in collaboration with L’Oréal Professionnel, celebrates the Young Designer of the year award which this year went to Yi Fang Wan for her exquisite collection of intricately draped pale cottons.

Menswear designer Alex Mullins was awarded a runner-up prize for his brightly coloured, circus-inspired shirts, wacky headgear and oversized jackets.

London College of Fashion

London College of Fashion took its turn down the catwalk last night, showcasing some very impressive collectionsof its BA (Hons) Fashion Design Technology students. Featuring the collections of 26 students - selected from over 200 who will graduate this summer.

Nattaphon Sampathakdee won himself Collection of the Year with his sophisticated and sleek take on menswear that had luxe dressing gown lounge appeal, while Yelena Loguiiko scooped herself the Design and Technology award for her gorgeous folklore meets Picasso-inspired collection - from which we wanted to pinch pretty much every coat and jacket right away. They came elegantly dotted with embellishment, but not too much, while shoulders were smoothly sculpted and elbows clad in fur.

Vilvin Sabu and Karishma Shahani were the other two winners of the night, receiving awards for Best Use of Embellishment and Fashion Textiles respectively.

Also, caught of the public the quaint folkloric collection of Connie Lo, which was just the right side of kitsch to be wearable; Xiao Li's fun and frivolously embroidered mix of denim and knits in a pastel palette of pink and baby blue; Steph Goynes' Native American knitted jumper dresses and loosely belted jackets; Flett Bertram's beautifully tassel-festooned miniskirts and blouses which cleverly combined something cute yet ladylike; Jess Sayers' smothered sequin ensembles - in dark purple shades, they successfully missed the too-blingy mark; and Joanna Prichard's mix of minimalism and drapery.

AW 10-11: THE HOLLYWOOD BABYLON COLLECTION

Inspired by Kenneth Anger’s cult book Hollywood Babylon, Sarah-Elizabeth’s debut collection explores the dark side of Hollywood’s Golden age. This season pictures a scandalous starlet of the thirties’ Sin City, and contrasts the concept of hiding versus being exposed.

With an incessant approach to design development, the Hollywood Babylon collection was conceived as a result of more than 100 toiles exploring shape and silhouette as well as countless detail samplers. Having been awarded a sponsorship with Saga furs, Sarah-Elizabeth visited their Copenhagen studios where she worked on a number of exciting fur designs.

The silhouette focuses on an exaggerated neckline symbolizing hiding away whilst the concept of being exposed is revealed through cut-outs and cut-away sections. Skin-tight catsuits portray nakedness whilst loosely fitting gowns represent being covered. Attentive hand-worked detailing paired with sensuous chiffons and organzas, give a soft and light feeling. This is a luxury collection with a great attention to detail and quality - from hidden silk structuring to individually sewn feathers and hand-stitched fox.

SARAH BURTON, the late Alexander McQueen's right-hand design aide, has been named creative director of the London-based fashion house.

Burton - who grew up in Manchester and graduated from Central Saint Martins in 1997 - worked with McQueen for sixteen years. Having joined the brand in 1996, she has worked as head of womenswear design since 2000 and was credited with completing the designer's autumn/winter 2010-11 collection in time for Paris Fashion Week in March, following his suicide less than a month earlier.

"The creation of modern, beautifully crafted clothes was at the heart of Lee's vision. I intend to stay true to his legacy," commented Burton on the announcement.

Gucci Group affirmed they would continue the company in McQueen's name shortly after his death, stating that the designer had set the "building blocks of the brand" that would allow the business to thrive.

Jonathan Akeroyd, president and ceo of Alexander McQueen said: "We are delighted that Sarah has agreed to take on the role of creative director. She has a deep understanding of his vision, which will allow the company to stay true to its core values." Burton's appointment will help strengthen the future of the company, which continues to press forward - with plans to launch a men's underwear collection in June.

"Sarah is extremely talented and under her creative leadership we are ready to enter a new phase in the brand's history," said Akeroyd.

Robert Polet, president and ceo of Gucci Group added: "Sarah has a real talent, a close understanding of the brand, and the vision necessary to take it forward. We will be giving full support to Sarah and the team in the coming years."

September 7, France, is the time and place for this year’s great event launch; by next evening, Korea and Britain will be ready for a night of extravaganza; September 9 is the date for Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Australia; the United States, India and Russia quickly follow on September 10; Taiwan, China and Japan on September 11; and finally Greece and Turkey rounding up the event on September 16.

Needless to say, the countdown for London is up and running. One hundred twenty one days till London Fashion’s Night Out, and the event already looks immensely promising. Last year, the Vogue team rounded up London’s the crème de la crème of fashion designers, models and fashion enthusiasts, who swept customers of their feet with expert styling and advice on the latest trends. For one night, retailers’ doors swung wide open for a flow of superstar appearances, as Vogue turned the city’s favourite shops into a melting pot of the greatest fashion icons.

With Vogue’s Christopher Bailey and Alexandra Shulman as hosts, last year’s Burberry party excelled in physical splendour, with models on parade, and Erin O’Conner, Natalia Vodianova and Claudia Schiffer to name a few, celebrating Vogue’s unique initiative. And truly, their common mission was accomplished, as the night was a booming celebration of fashion and fun, leaving shoppers and retailers wanting for more.

As for quality fashion advice, you had Mrs B at Browns in Mayfair securing a handful of her favourite designers to take over the shop’s floor for the night. After Tweeting a warning to potential customers against discount requests, Henry Holland took the till job very seriously indeed. And it wasn’t a one-man shift, mind you, as he was accompanied by co-workers Marios Schwab, William Tempest, Lily Parker and Ben Grimes, who equally offered a share of precious fashion sense. Over by Topshop in Oxford Circus, and you had a glowing Jordan Dunn imparting a bit of fashion advice to shoppers.

This year, you’d be wrong to expect anything less- Fashion’s Night Out has already been dubbed 2010’s biggest fashion party. And no wonder- looking at last year’s reviews and figures, there’s no room for doubt why Matthew Williamson expected this year’s event to be ‘even bigger and better’. Rounding up the night, Diane Von Furstenberg declared that the occasion registered sales greater than ever, while Nicole Farhi counted 600 shoppers in her store, and £6k in retail sales over a mere four hours. Burberry too recorded a 15% sales increase, and the event surely left Prada spokeswoman impressed with the diversity of the customer turnover. Only words of praise for Vogue, and a flow of pleas for even more in-store activities for the years to come.

A shopping heaven, many called it. An all-out global success, critics declaimed. Indeed, whether you went in search of your very own, Lucinda Chambers designed, FNO T-shirt and donate your share to the homeless charity Crisis, or to gather up the highlights of your winter wardrobe, or simply just to immerse yourself into the Vogue allure and keep an eye on celebrity appearances, you were there to witness an unforgettable event. And this year, Vogue surely sticks by its promise of a great night- not of last year’s magnitude, but much bigger and much better.

With glamorous audacity and a vibrant passion for dress-up art, Vogue once again summons the world’s most acclaimed fashion icons at your high-street till. Judging by last year’s success, Fashion’s Night Out has darted its way up amongst the fashion’s heavyweight, and it’s not an event to cook up anything less than a storm. So if you haven’t started counting down yet, make sure you do now and mark that date in Sharpie on your planner, because Vogue Fashion’s Night Out in London 2010 is not a party you’d want to let yourself miss!

ALTERNATIVE FASHION WEEK DAY 5

Almost as soon as it had begun, the final bustling hour and a half of Alternative Fashion Week loomed across the thronged paving of Spitalfields Market. Centred around the blanched catwalk, the crowd gathered. Alternative Fashion Week being open to the public, an excited hush descended over the eclectic mixture of the fashion pack, and excited passers by, punctuated by the occasional clink of a coffee cup or crying baby. That’s the interesting thing about this fashion week, the young sibling of London’s fully fledged Fashion Week. It feels almost like a natural extension of its surroundings, part of the day-to-day hustle of London life.

True to the saying, day 5 saved some of the best for last, Kim Seoghee leading the pack with an avant-garde mixed men’s and womenswear collection comprising of exclusively black pieces. This years must, the jumpsuit was paraded down the double-ended catwalk, with a healthy dose of the harem crotch being applied to a selection of leggings and trousers.

Another of the day’s successes was Laura Fox’s collection of womenswear inspired by the ideal of British Heritage. Her collection came down the catwalk in a melee of wax and tweed brought to life in the modern day through the use of elegant shapes.

Wilfried Pletzinger was one of the stand out designers of the day, presenting his audacious collection of recycled sportswear. Although not necessarily wearable – a full length skirt made from jogging bottoms provides more than a little difficulty when it comes to actually walking – the designs were certainly an eye-catching tribute to what one can do with a little imagination and a collection of brash 90s gym attire.

And in the flash of a bulb it was over. The crowd parted for the last time, into the wind whipped chill of a surprisingly sunny East End. Alternative Fashion Week takes place each spring, so if you missed it, don’t panic, for there is always next year. With no admission charge and a stomping ground in one of the coolest quarters of London, there’s no excuse for missing this, and you never know, you might just spot one of fashion’s rising stars.

Sharing sophistication and culture, Alex Seroge Ignatian presented Thursday’s eager audience with a collection based on Middle Eastern culture. The strong colour palette flowed from Persian red, magenta and deep purple to shades of brown, green and finally ochre. The brocade coats took everyone’s breath away. Who knew culture-chic could look so effortlessly cool?

Talking about cool, Ignatian’s unique take on harem pants are an excellent alternative to the plain high street versions offered this season. As for accessories, models dashed across the runway wrapped in long scarves mysteriously hiding parts of their faces proving that power is not only about show and tell. Ignatian’s collection ticked all the boxes; be it colour, shape or cut, the clothes worked in perfect harmony and pleased all eyes.

ALTERNATIVE FASHION WEEK DAY 3

Day three of alternative fashion week brought with it an eclectic mix of the insane and the inspired. Veiled behind the press of people thronged tightly beneath the glass-topped sweep of London’s Spitalfields Market, the catwalk lay in wait for the day’s designers. Through the tight mass of the crowd, interspersed with the occasional glint of a brightly decorated model, protruded the white backed catwalk, onto which the first of the day’s designs stepped out.

Hush descended, the lights went up, and the characteristic clatter of a hundred shutters presided authoritatively over the scene. It being alternative fashion week, we were reminded of the freedom of these designs, unencumbered by commercial restraint. For some designs, and I refer here to Amy Day’s ‘Celestial Macabre’ collection, a line of latex designs, it was easy to see why. First I wondered what gave her the idea of using such a brash material, and quickly my thoughts turned instead to how on earth the models had managed to shoehorn themselves into their outfits. My guess to this day remains elbow grease and a heap of talcum powder.

However, the designs weren’t all quite such an unbridled celebration of the freedom of fashion. Adel Andic had obviously experienced the powerhouse that was Todd Lynn’s A/W 10/11 collection, yet her earthen designs of empowering layering, combined with the warrior goddess big shoulders was an absolute triumph.

Gemma Wadsworth’s sportswear collection based on the ‘Tokyo’ trainer was an inspired look at sportswear, boasting an understated luxury.

Another of the day’s triumphs was a mixed men and womenswear collection from Havering College, whilst the womenswear was good, it was the menswear that brought them out of the realms of forgettable. Caped shoulders added a fresh twist to their immaculately cut checked jacket, and the flash of velvet on the pocket provided an extra dollop of class.

So don’t take the word alternative to necessarily mean it’s going to be a bit ‘out there’, despite the odd flash of schizophrenic style, London’s Alternative Fashion Week is a great place to spot yourself an up and coming designer.

Travelling Review – Marrakesh, Morocco.

As the Swiss psychologist, Carl Jung claims, “in all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order”. If there is a city in the world that best exemplifies this; that is Marrakesh. Newly inaugurated as one of the hottest global destinations, Marrakesh provides a little of everything for everyone. Undisputedly cosmopolitan, whilst remaining respectful of its culture and traditions, Marrakech has put itself on the shortlist of the most sophisticated and stylish travelers.

In the heart of Morocco, stands Marrakesh, a city with more than 15,000 years of History, despite the fact the imperial city or red city, as Marrakesh is often called, was not founded until 1062, when Ben Youssef of the Almoravid dynasty claimed the site for his soldiers and erected the Koutobia Mosque, which to this day remains the focal Mosque. This city has been a crucial cultural, economic and military location for centuries.

Every morning at 5 am, the orator of the imposing Koutoubia Mosque starts the wailing call to prayer the Islamic population of Marrakech. The sound is the signature of the city –as well as in every city throughout the Islamic world. Its minaret is also a landmark of the city and a centre of reunion for Muslims, since infidels are not allowed to see inside. Just a few minutes away through cobblestone streets, Jmaa El Fna Square welcomes the first merchants and adventurous tourists. Jmaa El Fna (Assembly of the dead in Arabic) is everything but a conventional square. A place that at one point – not long ago – was used for public hangings, is today the hub activity of the Medina, Marrakesh’s old town, and one of the busiest squares not only in Africa, but in the world.

In the midst of the chaos of the circus-like square: acrobats, chained Barbary apes, story-tellers, snake charmers, fortune-tellers, water sellers with traditional colorful costumes, Chleuh dancing-boys (transvestite dancers), henna tattoo-artists, musicians, magicians, peddlers of traditional medicines and even untruthful dentists await to amaze the westerners. “Everybody has a role here” at least that is what Mbarak, a berber that has lived in Marrakesh for the past 50years, said when he saw my surprise when faced with this insane panorama. As darkness descends, the square bustles with market stalls and loudly men promote their delicatessens turning the place into a hectic open-air restaurant. Around the square on the top of the main buildings, cafes and terraces escape from the noise and confusion down in the square where tourists can stop for a drink or a traditional mint tea and overlook at Jmaa El Fna as portrayed in the Alfred Hitchcock’s movie The Man Who Knew Too Much (1956) or Sex and the City 2 (2010).

Narrow streets that surround Jmaa El Fna lead into the alleys of the Medina quarter deliniated by the city walls that have survived, almost in their entirety, thousands of years of History. The Medina is charismatic and its narrow bustling alleys, overwhelm the visitor’s senses with sounds and scents, not all of them savoury. Here, in the old city of Marrakesh, most of the main sights (and MUST SEEs of the city) lie in wait – The Mosques, the palaces and the souk; the traditional market.

The most notorious buildings in the red city are unquestionably the palaces, which show the splendour and magnificence that Marrakesh has once expounded. The royal Palace which cannot be visited due to the fact that it still functions as the residence of Mohammed IV, king of Morocco. The Badii Palace was once one of the most grandiose and lavish palaces in the 16^th century, today in stands in ruins (full of storks’ nests and crumbling pavilions) but remains worthy of a visit. Also on the list of things to see, should be the so-called jewel of Marrakesh, the Bahia Palace (brilliance in Arabic) which was built in the late 19th century, was intended to be the greatest palace of its time.

Other MUST-SEE places in Marrakesh are the Medersa Ben Youssef, an ancient residence for Islamic fundamentalist students with outstanding examples of Arabic ornamentation. As well as, the Saadian Tombs mausoleums that comprise of the members of the Saadi Dynasty buried with faithful and loyal servants and soldiers. After its re-discovery in 1917, this breathtaking site has been carefully restored and become one the most popular attractions in Marrakesh, due to its beauty and lavish decoration. And finally, the famous Jardin de Majorelle (Majorelle’s garden) hidden from the racket of the Medina in a back-street of the new city. The garden was designed by Jacques Majorelle and owned since 1980 by the French fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent and whose ashes were scattered there after his death in 2008. The Marjorelle garden is considered to be an oasis of green serenity in the heart of the city, due to the dense shade of palms and bamboo thickets that surround the pools and fountains making it a perfect place to rest.

The souk is also deserving of a visit for its bewildering madness, a labyrinth of open-fronted stalls in which it is all too easy to lose yourself.

WARNING: Souk not suitable for the claustrophobics and the shy.

Downtown Marrakesh is bursting with flavour. Cheap (and scrumptious) nibbles can be found at the many food tents that open in the square of Jmaa El Fna where communal bench tables surround the cheerful cooks working under the light of naked bulbs by nightfall. A wide selection of culinary delights is on offer, including everything from snail soup to grilled vegetables and other traditional specialties such as couscous, tagine or bastilla, starting from 30 MAD (£2 to you) and in a brilliantly amusing atmosphere. Tip: Be brave; try everything they offer to you. Alcohol is expensive and hard to come by, instead, try the “national drink”, mint tea. Made with Chinese green tea, a handful of fresh mint leaves and masses of sugar; it is poured from miniature metal pots and drunk from equally small glasses. Fruit milkshakes are also made to order – banana, orange, apple and avocado seem to be the favourites. The oranges, which are piled high on the shaded barrows that edge the Jmaa El Fna square, are transformed into refreshing glasses of sweet-tasting, freshly squeezed juice before your eyes.

When choosing a place to stay, the most sought after accommodation in Marrakech is a Riad, a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior courtyard situated in the old city. The riads combine the enchantment of the Islamic architecture and culture with the modernity of the Western civilization. As well as being very attractive and chic, in most cases, you can stay for as little as 200 MAD (£15) per night –including breakfast! Staying in a riad is undeniably the best way to experience the exotic nature of the imperial city.

Marrakesh completely struck me with its magnificence and anachronism, virtually unchanged since the Middle Ages, time has come to a standstill in this enchanting city. The chaotic rhythm of the metropolis makes this an unforgettable experience that lies in a stark contrast with the contemporary and organized daily life of the Western cities.

Responsible for turning the world of wine sur pont, Madame Clicquot, Queen of Champagne is the unsung face of hedonistic luxuriance, the sparkling answer to Chanel. With the obvious connotations of her infamous surname put aside, Madame Clicquot remains fairly anonymous. In fact, she achieved something entirely astounding. Widowed in 1805 at the age of 27, she took the reins of her husbands burgeoning business, and transformed it into a worldwide phenomenon. It remains a little known fact, that every drop of champagne poured tentatively into each opulent flute is directly accountable to Madame Clicquot. More than just continue her husband’s business, she metamorphosed the entire brand.

Veuve, which translates directly into French as widow, is her hallmark, and you just may have heard of Veuve Clicquot. Madame Clicquot, having learnt a little about winemaking from her husband, revolutionised the production champagne following his death. En fait, she invented an entirely new process, the details of which are entirely painstakingly meticulous. If anything is certain, it is that she understood the properties of yeast far better than you or I. Science aside, it worked. Her exceptional taste and savvy business sense sent Veuve Clicquot into overdrive, creating wines of ‘only one quality, the finest’. Having acquired the best crus – that’s a really good vineyard to us – the house of Clicquot reins supreme from Reims, the Grande Dame de la Champagne, Madame Clicquot at the helm, presiding over a nation of bubbling elegance. Her story sits at the core of Clicquot house, inextricably interwoven with golden effervescence of the brand; she is the founding mother of resplendence, lacing her net of luxury across the globe.

More than the champagne the champagne itself, Madame Clicquot’s empire provides a vivre dans le luxe. Her mansions across France are the home to the essence of luxury itself, the floors having been danced across by the champagne soaked elite of the world. The company now belongs to the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessey group of luxury brands, lying lavishly in the lap of wealth.

For a nineteenth century woman, the achievements of Madame Clicquot are entirely astounding. It is here that I draw the comparison with Chanel. Madame Clicquot, like Coco, is the brand itself. She remains to this day the cornerstone of Veuve Clicquot the sole reason for the triumph of the brand, through a heady combination of grit and elegance. However, unlike Coco before Chanel, there was no champagne before Clicquot.

- What is the main difference between this collection and previous ones?

The woman is getting stronger and adventurous in trying new dangerous cut silhouette on woman body, less fragile but they are still very dark inside in a modern way.

- What were your main inspiration for you new collection?

Harry Halim fall/winter 2010-2011 collection is presenting new dark sensualism and masculine yet feminine. I want it something very urban and romantic collection at the same time. Contrasting between leather and silk. and playing with different way of using leather with full of industrial details on the garment. See the touch erotic through the drape of clothes in a modern darkness where about romance and regret, dark beauty in the modern way and sensuality and glamour meet.

- I realized in the show most of your garments were white, is there any particular reason behind it?

Fall/winter collections mostly are black and dark colours but I would like to bring the opposite of it. And I would like to show not only black colours can reflecting darkness and mysterious.

- Your work reminded us a little bit of Christopher Kane, where you influenced by his latest collections?

Not at all.

Just to know a little bit more about yourself, few quick questions:

- When did you decided that you wanted to be a fashion designer and why?

After I went to a wrong course as Graphic Designer. I wanted to be a Surgeon.

- What was the best advice that you got in your life?

Always listen to you heart, it will never wrong.

- What was the worst advice that you got in your life?

I try to ignored all the bad advices

- A vice?

Keep fighting and never look back.

- Your favorite color?

I am in the mood of nomadic colours

- Short story/memory from your childhood?

I used to paint my sister’s dolls face with marker and hide it under with other toys.

My mom

- And at last but no at least, since our magazine is heavily followed by fashion students, what advice you give to young fashion designers that are starting in the fashion world creating their own collections?

Try to participate in all kind of important fashion contests, the experience of making 1 collection, is doubled experiences given from school in 1 semester. And keep trying, nothing is impossible in this world.
